Ministry of Transport plans to introduce unmanned systems in the Arctic

The Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation plans to introduce unmanned systems in the Arctic transport complex of Russia on the basis of the Unified Information and Telecommunication System of the Transport Complex of the Arctic Zone of the Russian Federation.

"The information resource of this system will be used to coordinate transport and logistics work in transport hubs, as well as operational monitoring of the transport situation in the Arctic. The introduction of this system will help the socio-economic development of the vast and resource-rich Arctic territories," - said Transport Minister Maksim Sokolov.

The head of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation stated that the development of the Arctic zone today is one of the priority state tasks. Sea, air and land transport routes pass through the territory of the Arctic, development and navigation and information support of which gives additional impulses for the development of resources in the northern territories.
